Transition, Kyle Richtig’s follow up to his 2018 album Second Son, has been released! Check it out on Bandcamp!

Transition was recorded in Moncton, New Brunswick following the move of Richtig Haus in the summer of 2018. The album is a reflection on this move, the issues of the previous period, those involved, and where those issues have landed now. The song Transition focuses specifically on the landing in Moncton and how even in your own country you can find a new world.

“When I started writing the music for Transition, I really had a different expectation of what the album was going to be. The songs were light and fun. Early songs like 90’s Dance Party, Bi (Break It Down) and Transition came out of these early sessions. The more I worked, and life started to happen around me, deeper issues began to surface,” explained Richtig.

“Things took a turn when I recorded the song Healing Heart. It came about when I made a friend who was having relationship difficulties. I wanted to help him because he reminded me so much of myself when I was younger. I see it know as more of a letter to my former self.”

Richtig explores addiction, gender, masculinity, environmentalism and relationships in a very personal way through Transition. Where much of Second Son looked at Richtig’s views on others, Transition turns the focus clearly on the self.
