Nina Flowers (Jorge Luis Flores Sánchez) began her drag career in 1993, and was brought to the world via RuPaul’s Drag Race Season One in 2009. Known for her severe androgenous look, Nina was favoured by many to win Season One. She walked away with second place and the first Miss Congeniality Crown. Nina Flowers became a Professor on the spin-off show RuPaul’s Drag U.
A Puerto Rican queen, Nina Flowers now lives in Denver, Colorado.
A make-up artist and DJ, Flowers brings a unique talent to her drag. She was the only queen in Season One who did not have to lip sync for her life before the finale, and was only second to RuPaul herself in the season’s Extra Special Edition. She also took sixth place with a tribute to all of Nina’s hair and makeup throughout the season. Nina let the children have it in the Vogue mini-challenge before the Absolut Drag Ball.
In Season One, Episode Two Girl Groups, Nina had issues with the group’s choreography. She may have made her way into the bottom two in this episode had she not won immunity the previous week. Nina stumbled in the Queens of All Media challenge, with her fluency in English an obstacle.
Nina Flowers is a fierce competitor. When we measure her charisma, uniqueness, nerve and talent she is scores a perfect 20 (alongside with fellow Drag Race All Stars competitor Manila Luzon).
